Pakistan Fashion Industry — Why the Bhurban Cedar Estate Is the Location You Have Not Used Yet

Pakistani fashion photography has explored the country's urban settings extensively — the Lahore Fort, the Islamabad monuments, the restored havelis of the walled city — and has begun to expand into northern Pakistan's dramatic mountain landscapes (the Hunza valley, the Karakoram). Between the urban heritage settings and the high-altitude northern extremes, there is a middle location that the fashion industry has largely bypassed: the cedar forest estate at 6,800 feet in Bhurban, 45 minutes from Islamabad.

The oversight is understandable — Bhurban reads as 'domestic hill station' rather than 'editorial location'. But the Himalaya Villas estate, with its private cedar canopy, its mountain terrace backdrops, its fire-lit garden, and its specific quality of light across different seasons, is a photographic environment with no accessible equivalent near Pakistan's fashion industry centres.

Fashion photography requires access control: the background must be controllable, the environment must be exclusively for the production. The Himalaya Villas private estate, booked exclusively for the shoot, provides total access control — no other guests, no public road visible from the key shooting positions, no uncontrolled background elements. This is difficult to achieve at most outdoor Pakistani locations without significant production overhead. The private estate delivers it as a default condition.
